Hi! I'm Nora, a 20 year old college student heavily involved in computer-science (cs) and psychology. I'm a former swimmer of 15 years who recently quit to start HRT. I've been out for 3 years via social transitioning and with that I've been able to explore a lot of who I am and who I'd like to become. I'm an impersonal blog-esque writer about mostly trans experiences, and in my free time I like to mess around with web design (shocker, right?). My hobbies also include gaming, reading, speechwork, review, makeup, fashion, and more!
I'd been working on my Happy as Her writing project for a few months now, and found Wix to be extremely restrictive on what it was. I like neocities and I wanted to get back into handcoding a lot of my website stuff with a lot of creative freedom. The site is purposely tacky and I'm comfortable with that, I'll adjust things as I see fit, and we'll see the site evolve in time. I see it as another extension of myself and my identity.
I decided to split my website into two halfs as I missed the other part of web design after making my main page more mobile friendly. It's nice for being a space to read but what about my games? My music? All of that stuff! I'd had enough time and decided I wanted to bring back my old design on a split side of the site, say screw it to mobile compatibility (sorry not sorry! View on desktop or don't view at all!) And just have fun again. It'll distinctively have a more pink/purple aesthetic, while my other half will keep the green/yellow vibe. It's like two parts of me! the silly, sloppy, and dainty vs the refined, perfected, and polished. This isn't saying i love one side more than the other, they both make up very important parts of me.
A lot of things honestly. I've kept a journal on and off for my whole life, but I always would write small little notes to myself to find clarity in what was happening. I'd always struggled with writing in classes so I took a writing course in college. From there my professor really pushed for me to write more, and that she really liked my work. I focused a lot of our class prompts around being trans, being I found that often I couldn't really talk about being trans so casually. I showed some of the stuff to friends and people encouraged me to create a blog. I used Wix briefly and then transferred over to neocities for the freedom of being able to do sloppy web design practice while hosting all sorts of stuff. Over time the site has found itself home to mostly Happy as Her work, as the project gets larger and larger :)
Uh... a lot of things (hence the huge writing project). If you're curious about this question in the sense of "am I trans?" I can't really help you there. That's your adventure to run through, and I wish you the best of luck. If you do wanna find out all about me being trans go read some of the Happy as Her Project!
